The article is dedicated to the outstanding Russian-Chinese scientist Boris Vasilyevich Skvortsov (1896-1980), who studied the nature of northeast China. Studying at the Natural Sciences Department of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of St. Petersburg. At the University, he studied botany under the guidance of Academician V.L. Komarov. While conducting botanical research in northeastern China, the scientist continued his scientific collaboration with Komarov. Skvortsov taught natural sciences in Harbin educational institutions. In the “Notes” of the Harbin Society of Naturalists and Ethnographers (1946. No. 5) B.V. Skvortsov published materials about V.L. Komarov. In 1950–1957, he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Forestry at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and as a professor at the same institute in Harbin, and had many Chinese students (1958–62).
