This study examines how companies gain and sustain a competitive edge in emerging overseas markets by exploring the role of dynamic capabilities in shaping business models and their underlying mechanisms. Through the application of replication logic, this research focuses on Myanmar’s telecommunications sector, employing the expanded Dynamic Capability Framework (DCF) introduced by Kimura and Chitose (2021). The findings demonstrate that dynamic capabilities are essential for developing innovative business models in emerging markets, with distinctive business models providing a significant competitive edge. The results of this case study align with the findings of Kimura and Chitose (2021), affirming the expanded DCF’s effectiveness in analyzing business expansion strategies in foreign markets.
