New theory demonstrates accurate vapor-liquid equilibrium in alcohol-nonassociating systems, suggesting improved predictive ability.
A new theory based on a continuous associated solution model for alcoholsaturated hydrocarbon systems is extended to alcohol-nonassociating activecomponent systems. It is found that the new associated solution theory givea good representation of vapor-liquid equilibrium and excess enthalpy datafor many binary alcoholsolutions and has a predictive ability of ternary vapor-liquid equilibrium data from binary parameters alone.
