Rural populations in the United States experience significantly higher rates of chronic disease and physical inactivity compared to their urban counterparts. Despite long-standing recommendations to prioritize physical activity within the healthcare system, rural health disparities persist due to unique socioeconomic, geographic, and environmental barriers. The purpose is to highlight the unique needs of rural America for physical activity promotion and serve as a call to action for interprofessional engagement within each state’s plan for rural health transformation.
