Research explores synergy between ecological conservation and livestock development, indicating pathways for effective balance.
This paper, from the perspective of macroeconomics, takes grassland ecological conservation and livestock development in Inner Mongolia as the research subject.By integrating local case studies, it explores the intrinsic mechanisms and realization pathways for their synergistic development.Through an analysis of the public goods characteristics of grassland ecosystems, the economic externalities of livestock farming, and the regulatory effects of policy interventions, a coupled framework for the "ecology-economy" system is proposed. The study finds that: (1) grassland ecological conservation requires institutional designs such as property rights delineation and ecological compensation to internalize external costs; (2) sustainable livestock development necessitates industrial transformation and upgrading with technological innovation to enhance economic efficiency; and (3) the key to their synergy lies in constructing a three-dimensional governance system encompassing "institutions, markets, and technology."This paper provides theoretical references and practical insights for balancing ecological conservation and economic development in frontier ethnic regions.
