The incorporation of cold wire addition in Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) has emerged as an effective method to enhance productivity in pulper machine welding applications. In this study an auxiliary cold wire is introduced into the weld pool alongside the primary electrode, increasing the overall deposition rate without requiring additional heat input. This approach improves weld efficiency, reduces welding time and minimizes thermal distortion in critical pulper components. Experimental results indicate that cold wire feeding significantly enhances material utilization and weld quality while maintaining stable arc characteristics. Furthermore, the process contributes to cost reduction by optimizing energy consumption and reducing rework. Overall, the integration of cold wire addition in SAW demonstrates a promising advancement for achieving higher productivity and improved performance in pulper machine welding operations.
