This study analyzes the localization translation strategies employed in the game Cyberpunk 2077. Through in-depth examination of the game's background, translation approaches, cultural adaptation, terminology consistency, and stylistic tone, it reveals the complexity inherent in game localization. The research proposes translation strategies grounded in target cultural contexts, emphasizing that translation transcends mere linguistic conversion to encompass cross-cultural communication and immersively experiential transmission. To address challenges such as cultural adaptation, terminology translation, and player experience optimization, the study employs strategies including in-depth cultural research, terminology database construction, and close collaboration with development teams. Techniques such as literal translation, free translation, as well as supplementary and reverse translation, enhance localization quality and enrich player engagement. However, the research identifies limitations in game localization, such as difficulties in translating cultural elements, accurately conveying technical terminology, and resource allocation constraints. Looking ahead, game translation will face growing challenges in areas like knowledge reserves, technological integration, and user experience. Translators must therefore continuously enhance professional competence, strengthen cross-cultural communication, and actively explore new technological applications to navigate future trends.
