Mini-review highlights recent findings on myricetin's effects on diabetes and obesity, suggesting potential for functional foods.
Myricetin, a typical favonol in food and medicine, has attracted widespread attention, with many new research papers published every year. This mini‐review highlights the most recent research on myricetin from 2021 to 2025. In the past 5 years, several myricetin or its O ‐glycosides were studied from its natural resources. The benefits of myricetin mostly focus on its effects on diabetes and obesity in vivo. The effect of interaction between myricetin and gut microflora on the management of diabetes and obesity has been one of the growing hot topics. More practice is needed to develop functional foods related to myricetin.
