This study presents a PRISMA-based systematic literature review of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in higher education. The review identifies key research trends such as usability, adaptive learning, and system integration, while highlighting a significant gap in academic administrative automation. Based on the findings, a Smart Academic Management System (SAMS) is proposed to integrate both academic and administrative processes, improving efficiency, transparency, and user experience in educational institutions.
