Strategic Shifts in Funding and Priorities for Samagra Shiksha Schemes: A Road Map for Vision Viksit Bharat@2047

This study explores the strategic shifts in funding, policies and priorities under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, aligning with Vision Viksit Bharat@2047. We examine budget allocations, teacher recruitment challenges, enrolment trends, digital infrastructure development and special initiatives to assess their impact on access, equity and quality in education. While increased investments in foundational literacy, digital learning and inclusive education have strengthened the system, disparities in resource distribution, regional gaps in digital access and persistent teacher shortages remain significant challenges. We highlight the importance of targeted interventions for marginalized groups, including girls and children with disabilities, and evaluate their effectiveness in fostering equitable learning opportunities. Our findings emphasize the need for optimized resource allocation, robust monitoring mechanisms and adaptive policies to bridge existing gaps. Ensuring sustained investments in teacher capacity, digital infrastructure and school facilities will be crucial for building a resilient, future-ready education system. Strengthening implementation strategies will help realize the long-term vision of an inclusive and globally competitive education framework.
