This Letter demonstrates how short-range quantum effects impact Coulomb collisions in non-degenerate plasmas, suggesting significant influences on plasma behavior.
In this Letter, a finite differential cross section is derived for Coulomb collisions in high-temperature, non-degenerate plasmas using the first Born approximation with a short-range potential incorporating quantum screening and diffraction. The corresponding momentum-transfer cross section is also shown to acquire a non-negligible contribution from small-angle collisions.
