In Results in Physics 78 (2025) 108506 , Fumani et al. studied the topological phase diagram and quantum criticality in the spin-1/2 XX chain with three-spin interaction. This letter is an supplementary to their study. • This letter illustrates the origins of topological phases in the current published paper Results in Physics 78 (2025) 108506. • The studied model processes the BDI class topology, we present the open boundary energy spectrum and distributions of zero mode. • We declare the existence of analogy in other model with same topological properties.
