ASCO guidelines have been updated to include apixaban and rivaroxaban for extended VTE prophylaxis after cancer surgery, and apixaban for VTE treatment.
Apixaban and rivaroxaban were added as options for extended pharmacologic thromboprophylaxis after cancer surgery, with a weak strength of recommendation.
