Does supine hypertension increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality compared to seated hypertension alone?
Supine hypertension is associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease than seated hypertension alone, suggesting it may be an independent risk factor.
Supine hypertension regardless of seated hypertension had a higher HR for CVD risk than seated hypertension alone. Future research should evaluate supine hypertension in the setting of nocturnal hypertension and as an independent target of blood pressure treatment.
