The effect of wind interference is studied in the present research work due to the presence of an interfering building on the leeward side, having a variation in the relative orientation with respect to the principal building. Principal and interfering buildings have the same rectangular cross-section with an aspect ratio of 1:3. Experimentation is undertaken in a boundary layer wind tunnel, the principal and interfering buildings are closely located and the relative orientation of the interfering building is varied. Force and pressure measurements are undertaken independently. Force measurement results reveal that the across-wind force gets enhanced to 23.66 times the value observed under the isolated condition. Similarly, the torsional moment gets enhanced to 19.29 times the value observed under the isolated condition. Wind pressure contours on the leeward face of the principal building give a very interesting pattern of both suction and wind pressure acting on the face simultaneously.
