Studies during the last fifteen years in connection with the preparation of a monograph on the fossil Crocodilia have revealed the lack of an adequate modern classification which includes an important Triassic form recently described by Mr. Barnum Brown. This article outlines a new classification of the Crocodilia into four suborders, and indicates by diagram the relations of the families of the Crocodilia, as they are interpreted by the author.
