Abstract

Chevrel phases MₓMo₆S₈ (M = Cu, Pb, La or Gd) were prepd. by a 1-step redn. of precursor sulfides Mp (NH₄) qMo₃S₉. The Chevrel phases so prepd. were characterized by various phys. measurements. The present method has no adverse effect on the superconducting transition temperatures.
