Our goal was to check the potential of the entropic approach in describing the behavior of thermal radiation from Fe‒Cr alloys. Based on experimental data on resistivity, the normal integral emissivity has been estimated according to the Foot approximation and the radiation flux density has been calculated. Results have been analyzed in terms of an approach in which the normalized thermal flux is compared with dimensionless entropy characterizing the thermodynamic state of the system. The efficiency of such an approach in elucidating the specific features of thermal radiation from alloys with a complex phase diagram has been demonstrated. From relationships found, one can predict the emission properties of Fe‒Cr alloys.
