Abstract An easy and rigorous method for calculating the titration curve of Fe 2+ with dichromate is described. It overcomes the limit of previous approaches for this titration. In particular, it is based on the de Levie’s approach, calculating volume of titrant from the potential of the system, but this requires, at difference of the original approach, which fails in this case, to solve a second degree polynomial. Potential educational and practical applications are suggested.
