Abstract

By replacing the linear terephthalate linker with five-membered heterocyclic analogues, we synthesized a series of MIL-53(Fe) nanozymes. The incorporated heteroatoms (O or S) effectively modulate the electron density of the metal active sites. Consequently, the MIL-53(Fe)-TDC variant exhibits an approximately six-fold enhancement in oxidase-like activity compared to its counterpart MIL-53(Fe)-BDC.
