The integral expression for the elastic fields of ellipsoidal inclusions in anisotropic media solved by Kinoshita and Mura is further developed. The surface integrals in the expression are reduced to line integrals by the use of the theory of residues. The residues are given explicitly for the special cases of oblate (or prolate) spheroid inclusions in cubic crystals and in transversely isotropic materials. For the case of spherical inclusions, the results coincide with Kneer's paper.
