Does obesity impact long-term outcomes and complications in patients undergoing atrial fibrillation ablation?
Severe obesity (BMI ≥35 kg/m²) is associated with worse long-term outcomes and increased minor complications following atrial fibrillation ablation.
In patients undergoing AF ablation, increasing BMI is associated with more patient comorbidities and more persistent and long-standing AF. BMI ≥35 kg/m2 adversely impacts ablation outcomes, and BMI ≥40 kg/m2 increases minor complications.
