In this paper, a fault-tolerant strategy based on normal decoupling transformation for dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous generator (DTP-PMSG) under open-circuit fault and a sensorless control strategy during the fault-tolerance is proposed. While Maintaining the normal decoupling transformation, compensating the voltage constraints as fault-tolerant strategy, which can reduce the ripple of the DC voltage and the harmonic distortion of the phase current and can be easily switched in actual application. The mathematical model of the DTP-PMSG in the α-β coordinate system under open-circuit fault is deduced, and the full-order sliding mode observer during fault-tolerant control is established with the stator currents and the back electromotive force as state variables. After that, the position information is demodulated by using normalized phase-locked-loop demodulation. The feasibility of the fault-tolerant and sensorless control strategy is verified by experiments.
