This paper presents a robust fuzzy tracking controller for position and attitude control, and for vibration suppression in a flexible spacecraft. The robust fuzzy controller guarantees H ∞ tracking control performance while satisfying the actuators' amplitude constraints. The design problem of the fuzzy tracking controller is formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The stability, performance, and robustness of the proposed fuzzy controller are examined and compared with a baseline nonlinear controller such as the model-reference adaptive controller with σ-modification via numerical simulations.
