Low-level wind shear significantly impacts aviation safety. Doppler lidar is one of the primary tools currently used for detecting low-level wind shear at numerous international airports. Wind shear algorithms based on lidar primarily focus on the variation of headwinds in the aircraft take-off and landing areas, lacking parameters for crosswind variation and wind shear pre-warning functions. This paper proposed a short interval wind shear pre-warning algorithm based on vector wind shear algorithm, considering both headwind and crosswind variations. The pre-warning algorithm is achieved by track the movement of aerosol clusters based on the Taylor's frozen turbulence hypothesis. Three pre-warning zones are considered in this paper: 0-3 minutes zone, 3-5 minutes zone and 5-10 minutes zone. The proposed algorithm is validated to have the ability for identifying vector wind variations, with the generated warning data exhibiting temporal continuity. The pre-warning algorithm for wind shear enables airports to proactively manage and control areas where wind shear may occur, thereby ensuring aviation safety and improving the efficiency of aircraft landings and take-offs.
