The lead (I) dimer Pb (tBuAmDipp) 2 (tBuAmDipp– = tBuCNDipp2–, Dipp = 2, 6-iPr2C6H3) was formed as a side product during the reaction of the aluminyl anion KAl (NON) 2 (NON2– = OSiMe2NDipp22–) and the plumbylene Pb (tBuAmDipp) Cl2. Herein we report the solid-state and electronic structure of this hitherto unknown Pb (I) complex.
