Demonstrates effective SF6/N2 separation in a metal azolate framework, indicating potential environmental benefits.
Efficient SF₆/N₂ separation is critical for environmental protection and industrial interests. Herein, the ultramicroporous metal azolate framework Zn₃(atz)₆ (namely, MAF-123-Zn, Hatz = 1H-1,2,3-triazole) featuring a suitable pore size was investigated, yielding high uptake ratio for SF₆/N₂ (20.2) and moderate adsorption enthalpy (31.3 kJ mol⁻¹). Dynamic breakthrough experiments confirm the separation ability of high-purity SF₆ (>99.9%) recovery from low-concentration SF₆/N₂ mixture and facile regeneration condition of N₂ sweeping at room temperature.
