The study examined changes in the strength and plasticity characteristics of medium‑carbon unalloyed steels 30 and 45 during drawing of rolled stock with reductions from 5 to 60%. A set of mechanical properties of the investigated structural steels after strain hardening under the specified deformations was obtained. A comparative evaluation was carried out for each stage of deformation of the rolled stock at different reductions, and hardening curves under compression of specimens were constructed. Recommendations are given for manufacturing components with strength ≥600 MPa.
