The lithium storage property of the anode could be effectively improved by synergizing the merits of transition metal compounds and two-dimensional (2D) reduced graphene oxide (rGO). Herein, we adopted a simple polyol method to synthesize 2D rGO/glycolate-Mn hybrids. Due to the intimate interaction between glycolate-Mn and rGO, the hybrids exhibited exceptional electrochemical performance with a superior specific capacity of 1019.9 mAh g -1 (final cycle capacity) at a current density of 0.5 A g -1 after 800 cycles, as well as superb rate capability of 308.4 mA h g -1 at 5 A g -1 .
