Review highlights topological modifications and modulation techniques for improved battery charging efficiency in EVs, suggesting effective configurations.
The DAB converter is used in the battery charging application for EV’s because of its zerovoltage switching, power flow in both the directions, and voltage range for wider capability. As the conventional single-phase DAB topologies have failed to meet the performance such ashigh efficiency, decrease in circulating current, and large range of operation so to overcomethese challenges various topological modifications have been developed. In addition totopologies, several modulation techniques are discussed which are used to improve efficiencyand extend soft-switching operation. Thus, this paper presents an overview of DAB topologicalvariations, modulation strategies, modeling approaches, and control methods providing aunified framework for selecting suitable configurations in battery charging applications.
