The research aims to explore the relationship between changes in dental hygiene practices and the incidence of dementia.
Analyzed changes in dental hygiene practices among individuals over time.
Assessed dementia incidence in relation to oral care habits.
Considered baseline dental hygiene practices as a variable.
Improved dental hygiene practices correlate with a reduced risk of developing dementia.
Lapses in oral care among consistent brushers are linked to an increased dementia risk.
Abstract
Improvements in dental hygiene practices may lower dementia risk, even among those with poor baseline habits. Conversely, lapses in oral care among previously consistent brushers may increase dementia risk.
