Abstract:In the Chinese context, the discovery and dissemination of health science popularization outputs need to be more aligned with the usage habits of local researchers and the public. Health Guide (ISSN 3080-7654, eISSN 3080-7662, CODEN: JDABAN, DOI prefix: https://doi.org/10.66106/jdaban, Import Registration Number: G015Z102), a gold open-access health sciences journal published by Quest Press Limited, has recently been officially indexed by Baidu Scholar. As the largest academic search engine in China, Baidu Scholar underwent an AI restructuring in August 2025, launching dozens of new AI capabilities including AI academic search, AI literature summarization, AI reading, and paper knowledge graphs, transforming from a traditional academic search engine into a one-stop AI academic platform. Currently, Baidu Scholar has indexed over 2.7 billion academic resource pages and collected more than 700 million academic documents, providing nearly 3 billion services annually to tens of millions of academic users. The journal is dedicated to translating rigorous medical research and health knowledge into scientific information that is easy to understand and trustworthy for the public. All articles undergo strict peer review and are published under the CC BY 4.0 license, making them permanently and freely accessible. Being indexed by Baidu Scholar will enable the journal's health science popularization research outputs to leverage AI technology for intelligent recommendation and precise targeting, better serving health researchers and the public in the Chinese context. This article, taking into account the journal's positioning, analyzes the practical value of this indexing.
