Descriptive study reveals medium availability of electronic teaching standards among faculty, suggesting room for improvement.
The current study aimed to reveal the degree of availability of standards of excellence in electronic teaching among faculty at the University of Bisha in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from their point of view; the study utilized the descriptive approach to achieve that. The National Center for E-Learning in e-teaching, consisting of (6) axes and (56) indicators, has also been adopted. The empirical results showed: the availability of standards of excellence in e-teaching among faculty at a medium degree and an average of (1.72), where the factor of the faculty’s attendance achieved the highest degree of availability with an average of (2.70). It is followed by the factor of practices of faculty members with an average of (1.73) and then the communication factor with an average of (1.66), both are at a medium degree. While the factor of building a knowledge society, professional responsibility, and student-centered practices of faculty members achieved a weak degree of availability among faculty. Also, there are no statistically significant differences between the average responses of faculty at the University of Bisha regarding the degree of availability of standards of excellence in the field of electronic teaching due to the variables (specialization - type - degree - years of experience).
