Key Points

  • The study aims to assess the impact of oral nutritional support on survival and the efficacy of nutritional risk scores in patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors.
  • Prospective evaluation of nutritional support in metastatic patients receiving ICIs
  • Assessment of survival rates and immune-related adverse events (irAEs)
  • Use of nutritional risk scores for prognostic stratification
  • Oral nutritional support did not improve survival outcomes or rates of irAEs
  • Nutritional risk scores showed strong capabilities for prognostic stratification
  • Further research is needed on integrated approaches to nutrition and cachexia therapy

Abstract

ONS did not improve survival or rates of irAEs in metastatic patients receiving ICIs, whereas nutritional scores provided strong prognostic stratification. Prospective trials integrating longitudinal nutrition monitoring, immunonutrition, and multimodal cachexia therapy are warranted.
