As technology becomes increasingly embedded in daily operations, it is essential to understand its impact on employees’ well-being and job performance. Therefore, this study examines the impact of different types of technostress—specifically techno-invasion, techno-overload, and techno-turbulence—on employees in the hospitality industry. The study is based on a survey conducted with 245 hotel employees in Antalya, Türkiye. Standardized measurement tools were used to assess technostress, emotional exhaustion, role ambiguity, job satisfaction, and performance. The data were analyzed using structural equation modelling to explore the relationships among the variables. This approach helped uncover both the direct and indirect effects of technostress on employees’ work experiences. The results indicate that all three forms of technostress are associated with emotional exhaustion. Overall, the study demonstrates that technostress can impact not only how employees feel but also their job performance, particularly when their roles are unclear and ambiguous. What makes this study stand out is its focus on different kinds of technostress and how they shape not just how employees feel, but how they work. By identifying role ambiguity as a key piece in this puzzle, the study offers a fresh perspective on the human side of digital transformation in tourism. It adds new knowledge to the field and gives hospitality businesses practical ideas for managing the impact of technology on their teams.
