In this paper, a design method for a circular patch array absorber is proposed.The absorber is composed of a metal circular patch array on a dielectric substrate with a metal ground plate attached to its back side.The reflection coefficient of the absorber is calculated by superposition of the reflection coefficients of the metal patches and the ground plate.The designed center frequency and -15 dB fractional bandwidth agreed with those derived by electromagnetic field simulation within 0.1% error.
