An observational study evaluates nutrition quality in students, highlighting behaviors impacting health outcomes.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of nutrition of the students of the “Stefan cel Mare” University in Suceava, Romania. This observational study was conducted from December 2023 to February 2024, and included 45 students from the Nutrition and Dietetics bachelor’s program, compared with students from other programs. Diet quality was evaluated using the Healthy Eating Score proposed by CSIRO. The students’ average was 55 ± 13.4, which was significantly higher than that of students from other programs (42.8 ± 12.8). First-year Nutrition and Dietetics students obtained a score that was statistically significantly lower than that of students in years 2 or 3. A deeper understanding of eating habits and behavioral profiles during the transition from adolescence to young adulthood is crucial for developing tailored lifestyle interventions.
