Abstract: This paper examines the narrative-compositional techniques in Miguel Gomes's novel Llévame esta noche (2020), particularly focusing on the character's voice and positioning as they navigate a personal tragedy unfolding across Caracas, Figueira da Foz, New England, and the Great Plains, which delves into the portrayal of a Portuguese immigrant family in the 21st century. The analyses explore the attributes of the contemporary Venezuelan literary field and its aesthetic production, highlighting Gomes's novel as a significant contribution from diaspora narrators. Additionally, this paper explains how the depiction of the city aligns with broader trends in contemporary Venezuelan urban novels.
