Introduction: Cervical lordosis and head protraction are important parameters in postural diagnostics, with implications for biomechanics and rehabilitation. Although methods for their assessment exist, few studies have been focused on precise measurements using modern technologies such as the DIERS Formetric 4D, especially in young adults.Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine norms for cervical lordosis depth and head protraction among a group of young adults (aged 18-26 years) using the DIERS Formetric 4D device. The research objective was to provide reference data that could be used in the postural diagnosis and rehabilitation of the young adult population.Material and Methods: The study involved 332 individuals (162 women, 170 men) from Jan Kochanowski University Collegium Medicum in Kielce. The DIERS Formetric 4D system was used to measure cervical lordosis depth and head protraction in standing position. Statistical methods included determining medians and quartiles, and comparing the results with data published in the literature. The statistical analysis consisted of one static study, where the system took 12 images within six seconds. The results were averaged and statistically analysed by our team.Results: The median depth of cervical lordosis was 39.3 mm (quartiles: 48.15-70.35 mm). The median head protrusion was 58.9 mm (quartiles: 27.9-50.55 mm).Conclusions: The study results indicate normative values for cervical lordosis depth and head protraction in young adults, providing a reference point for further research on body posture and the use of posture analysis devices in clinical practice and research. The identified values may be useful in monitoring postural health as well as treating postural disorders in this population and age group. The study was based on a single sample and did not include behavioural factors.
