To address the issues of low visible light utilization efficiency and high charge carrier recombination rate in traditional photocatalysts, this work proposes a novel strategy utilizing ultrasonic-assisted technology to achieve in situ growth of atomically thin indium sulfide (In2S3) nanosheets on the surface of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) as highly efficient photocatalytic materials. The synthesized In2S3@SWCNT heterojunction composite combines the advantages of SWCNTs’ one-dimensional high-speed conductive network and the high specific surface area, strong light absorption capability, and abundant surface-active sites of In2S3 nanosheets. It exhibits enhanced photocatalytic degradation activity toward methyl orange dye. Compared to pure In2S3, the In2S3@SWCNT heterojunction demonstrates significantly enhanced photoelectrochemical (PEC) response, with a nearly 11-fold increase in photocurrent density at 1.23 V vs RHE. This research provides new insights for designing efficient chalcogenide-based photocatalysts and demonstrates their application potential in environmental pollution remediation and PEC fields.
