Maharashtra is widely known as the land of forts due to its unique geographical and historical background. Many of these forts were constructed during the Maratha Empire and remain symbols of bravery, engineering excellence, and cultural pride. However, in recent decades, they have faced multiple threats such as natural decay, lack of maintenance, and unregulated tourism.
