Genome assembly reveals chromosomal structure in European rabbit, highlighting its genetic contribution.
<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual female <ns3:italic>Oryctolagus cuniculus</ns3:italic> (European rabbit; Chordata; Mammalia; Lagomorpha; Leporidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 2 804.66 megabases. Most of the assembly (98.29%) is scaffolded into 22 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.44 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>
