The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has fundamentally altered the landscape of finance and accountancy. Beyond automation, AI now plays a strategic role in predictive analytics, risk modeling, forensic accounting, regulatory compliance, and decision support systems. This Ph.D.-level research paper critically examines the theoretical foundations, empirical applications, and institutional implications of AI in finance and accountancy. It further evaluates ethical, regulatory, and professional challenges while proposing a conceptual framework for sustainable AI adoption. The study contributes to existing literature by integrating technological, economic, and governance perspectives and identifying future research directions in AI-driven financial ecosystems.
