The paper examines the environmentally unfriendly agricultural practices in Anambra State of Nigeria. Agriculture is a major anthropogenic activity in Anambra State and contributes significantly to the problem of environmental degradation in the state. In as much as agriculture is an important source of food production and productivity, there is need to balance increase in agricultural produce with sustainable environmental practices so as to ensure sustainability of both food production and the environment.
