Advanced Terahertz Imaging and Artificial Intelligence for Security Screening: A Two-Decade Bibliometric Review (Review)

This paper presents a review of two decades (2005–2024) of research on terahertz (THz) imaging and artificial intelligence (AI) in security screening, with a focus on identifying research trends, prominent authors, and thematic developments. By utilizing bibliometric analysis tools, including Biblioshiny and VOSviewer, the study maps keyword and citation networks. The findings highlight the leading contributions from China and India, reveal a general lack of international collaboration, and highlight key research areas such as object detection and convolutional neural networks.
