Abstract

Correct posture is essential for maintaining musculoskeletal health and preventing related postural disorders. Physiotherapy students are expected to demonstrate and promote proper postural habits among their patients. This Narrative review aimed to evaluate the awareness and practical application of correct posture among physiotherapy student. A comprehensive literature search was performed using PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and CINAHL databases for studies published between 2005 and 2025. Observational, cross-sectional, and interventional studies assessing postural awareness and related musculoskeletal outcomes among physiotherapy students were included. Twelve studies met the predefined inclusion criteria. The findings indicated that physiotherapy students demonstrated a reasonable level of understanding of correct posture; however, its application in daily practice was inconsistent. A considerable proportion of students reported musculoskeletal discomfort, particularly in the cervical and lumbar regions. A significant knowledge–practice gap exists among physiotherapy students. The integration of structured ergonomic training and regular posture assessment within the curriculum is recommended to improve long-term musculoskeletal health.
