This investigation explores the impact of organisational culture in Australian recruitment firms' international branches, indicating potential challenges and strategies.
In times of a global economy many companies have already opened international subsidiaries or intend to do so in order to tap into new markets. Entering foreign markets implies facing a lot of challenges such as different languages, laws, economies and business customs. They can differ to large extents across the world. Societal culture is another factor that heavily influences lives in different countries. A lot of research has been undertaken with the purpose to understand and explain differences among nations. Another layer of culture has become a very important part of literature is organisational culture. Companies are concerned about the effects that international expansion might have on their organisational culture as it forms their identity and is in parts responsible for their success. This work investigates the relationship between the organisational culture of the headquarters of an Australian recruitment service provider and its international subsidiaries in New Zealand and the USA in the light of similar national cultures.
