Archaeological excavation reveals an Iron Age settlement in Wollaston, indicating historical occupation patterns.
MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by Wood Group UK Ltd, on behalf of Bloor Homes to undertake archaeological mitigation works on land east of Hookham's Path, Wollaston, in advance of a residential development. The excavation uncovered an Iron Age settlement that was continually occupied from the early Iron Age through to the late Iron Age period. The settlement comprised enclosures, roundhouses, pit groups and inhumations.
