This work demonstrates enhanced photophysical performance in a novel diblock copolymer, suggesting potential in optoelectronic applications.
In this work, a novel PPV‐PFO diblock copolymer featuring a donor–acceptor architecture has been designed and synthesized via an oxidative polymerization route. The integration of poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) (PPV) and poly(9,9‐ dioctylfluorenyl‐2,7‐diyl) (PFO) segments within a single diblock structure enables controlled electronic interactions between the two conjugated blocks and enhanced photophysical performance. Our comprehensive characterization, employing techniques such as IR, Raman, TGA, UV–vis, PL, and TRPL, allowed us to establish clear structure‐property correlations and evaluate its photophysical behavior. This new copolymer exhibits remarkable thermal stability and strong absorption across the visible spectrum, achieving a notably reduced band gap compared to the individual homopolymers. Furthermore, Förster energy transfer from to PFO led to a significant increase in exciton average lifetime. These favorable properties highlight the copolymer's strong potential for use in organic optoelectronic technologies.
