Abstract This study explores the growing crisis of political awareness in India and its impact on democratic stability. Despite having a well-established democratic framework, a significant portion of the population remains politically unaware and disengaged. Factors such as illiteracy, poverty, misinformation, and lack of civic education contribute to this issue. The study highlights the consequences of low awareness, including voter apathy and weak accountability, and suggests measures to strengthen democratic participation.
